Seasonal Culinary Day Trips
Are you looking for a unique and intimate Sonoma County food experience for your group?
Start the morning (not too early!) with an excursion that reflects Sonoma County's seasonal bounty. Each excursion is lead by an engaging expert such as a wild mushroom authority, farm owner or artisan cheesemaker. After our excursion, guests will enjoy an intimate cooking class at the stylish Relish Culinary Center in downtown Healdsburg featuring ingredients from the morning’s activity combined with other wonderful, seasonal items. Guests enjoy a complete four-course lunch with wine at the end of the class. To complete the day, groups can add an exclusive private wine tasting in the afternoon with a Master Sommelier.
Winter (December-March): Wild mushroom foray in Alexander or Dry Creek Valley with a Sonoma County Mycological Association member
Spring (April-June): Tour of a small local dairy and cheesemaking facility with the cheesemaker
Summer (June-September): Tour and peach tasting with the farmer at a scenic orchard
Fall (October-December): Tour and olive oil tasting at a local artisan press
How to Taste Wine lead by Master Sommelier Geoff Kruth is a deductive (blind) wine tasting of specially selected wines that represent different characteristics such as acidity, tannin, oak, finish and much more. Following the methodology of a formal sommelier wine tasting, you’ll learn to taste like a professional, identifying each wine by sight, aroma, and palate.
Day Trips can be scheduled Monday thru Thursday year-round, except major holidays.
